Author readings - Maple Grove Historic Site, 24 Beechwood Ave., Poughkeepsie. 3 p.m. July 31. Maple Grove will present its "Words Words Words" series featuring local authors reading and signing their works. This month's program will feature Emily Barton of Kingston, author of "Brookland"; John Darnton, author of "Almost a Family" and his wife, Nina Darnton, author of "An African Affair." The couple split their time between New York City and New Paltz. Books will be for sale and authors will be available for signings. Admission is free.
