An anonymous donor has stepped forward to challenge the community to help equip the planned Fond du Lac Public Library Express branch at Johnson Crossing Shopping Center. The donor has agreed to match all contributions, dollar for dollar, up to $10000.

Milwaukee Public Library users will soon have access to laptop computers thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and a Broadband Technology Opportunities Program grant. Six Milwaukee Public Library locations will be given 40 laptops each while 13 libraries will receive improved broadband services. Library director Paula Kiely described the impact of the additions by stating:
With the addition of the laptops, the six libraries have hired a technology specialist to provide training and support to library patrons.
The library locations that will be receiving laptops are:
-Atkinson Library, 1960 W. Atkinson Ave.
-Center Street Library, 2727 W. Fond du Lac Ave.
-Forest Home Library, 1432 W. Forest Home Ave.
-Martin Luther King Library, 310 W. Locust St.
-Villard Avenue Library, 3310 W. Villard Ave.
-Washington Park Library, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd.
