Cope, a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, practices mainly on employment and labor law issues, as well as general litigation and mediation.

Solon Corp. picks Benga to oversee power plants

Tucson-based Solon Corp., a large provider of turnkey solar power plants in the U.S., named Joe Benga as vice president and general manager of power plants.

Benga will oversee Solon's commercial and utility-scale power-plant systems business. He will lead the Power Plants division, a core Solon business unit, from the company's new San Francisco office.

Benga joins Solon from Lend Lease Americas, where he was vice president and operations director of solar services. Before that he held executive positions with El Solutions and PowerLight Corp., now SunPower, according to a Solon news release.

Benga has overseen completion of more than 600 commercial construction and photovoltaic (PV) projects domestically and internationally, Solon said.

Sally Chavez joins STG Design in Tucson

Sally Chavez joined STG Design in Tucson as an interior designer. Her current work there will include interior renovations for Watson Chevrolet.

Her experience includes renovations, additions and new construction for government, health-care, educational and commercial clients. Chavez previously worked for Aviar Commercial Space Planning and Design as a senior designer who worked on extensive government FF&E documents.

Chavez received her bachelor of science in interior design from the University of Arizona, is a member of American Society of Interior Designers, and is a LEED Accredited Professional, STG said in a news release.

Goldsmith back to LP&G as a creative director

LP&G Inc., a Tucson-based integrated marketing agency, has selected a former longtime employee, Dave Goldsmith, as associate creative director. Goldsmith served as a graphic artist and associate creative director at the agency from 1997 to 2008.

Goldsmith holds an advertising art degree from the Art Center in Tucson and a certificate of communication design from the Royal College of Art in London.

Communication

Good construction managers must be strong communicators.
